15 million light years from earth, the M83 Galaxy has not only been the site of 6 supernovae but also contains several red knots – the parts of space where active star formation takes place. Its spiral arms create a mesmerising view, earning it the nickname of the Pinwheel Galaxy.

All in all, the M83 Galaxy an epic and grandiose place, making Anthony Gonzales’s choice to name his band after it rather fitting.

Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming sounds like a thousand stars bursting into life whilst majestically spiraling through space. Though it skirts close to being overblown throughout, the double album stays just on the right side of excess to create a stunning 22 tracks of beautiful pop music, unmatched in 2011.

With his sixth album, Gonzales has created not only his best album yet, but possibly the best album of the year.
