Album Review – Barking by Underworld

After recording and mixing the nine tracks that would eventually make up Barking, Underworld began correspondence with various producers to help them create the album released today. Speaking to the Guardian, Underworld said that hearing their own music remixed for over twenty years of had inspired them to no longer work alone but to collaborate with a range of people from dub-step producers Appleblim and Al Tourettes to the drum and bass of High Contrast.
Despite the ‘outside influences’, Barking is without a doubt an Underworld album. From the stomping opening track ‘Bird 1′  through to the beauty of closing track ‘Louisiana’, the collaborative nature of Barking clearly works.
