Going to Glastonbury this year? Well, I’m not (in fact, I think I’m the only contributor to this blog that isn’t), but I’ve found something of interest to do with it anyway.

Orange have teamed up with Gotwind to create ‘power wellies’, which enable you to charge your phone or other device by dancing and stomping around.

12 hours of walking lets users to charge their phone for a full hour. the boots work by converting temperature differences captured through thermoelectric modules into electric voltage.

Initially I was a bit skeptical of these (in fact I thought it was a joke, but it seems not), and I’d be interested to know how many people will be wearing them and whether they are any good. The thing is, you always hope for sunny weather for a festival, which would therefore make these useless, but I’m sure time will tell.
